Water Well Video Survey

Video Survey provides a direct visual record of conditions inside a water well. SWS runs high-resolution downhole camera systems to inspect casing condition, screen integrity, pump intake zones, and any visible obstructions or damage — on both new completions and existing wells under investigation.

Tools & Techniques

What the Camera Inspects

A high-resolution downhole camera records the inside of the well in real time. Video surveys are performed using an Aries downhole video system for clear visual inspection and documentation of well conditions. Select an inspection target to see what it covers, what it tells you, and when it is used.

Downhole Video Inspection

A high-resolution downhole camera is lowered through the well to record a continuous visual survey of the interior, viewed and logged in real time at surface.

What it tells you

A direct, foot-by-foot visual record of conditions inside the well.

When to use it

Any time you need to see actual well condition rather than infer it from other logs.

Casing Condition

The camera documents casing joints, welds, and wall condition, revealing corrosion, holes, splits, or offset joints.

What it tells you

The structural condition of the casing.

When to use it

For aging wells, before rehabilitation, or to investigate suspected casing failure — and again after rehabilitation, since cleaning can expose casing problems that encrustation had hidden.

Screen Integrity

The survey inspects screen slots and openings for encrustation, breakage, or plugging that restricts flow.

What it tells you

Whether the screen is open, fouled, or damaged.

When to use it

To diagnose declining yield and plan screen rehabilitation.

Pump Intake Zone

The camera examines the pump setting depth and intake area for sediment, obstructions, or damage.

What it tells you

Conditions at and around the pump intake.

When to use it

After the pump is pulled, before setting a new one, or when investigating pump performance problems.

Obstruction & Damage ID

The survey locates and depth-references obstructions, debris, lost equipment, or physical damage anywhere in the well.

What it tells you

The depth and visible nature of downhole problems.

When to use it

For troubleshooting and to plan fishing, cleaning, or repair work.
